8 October 1852	The Ship Argo sailed from Liverpool, Lancashire, England, on Friday, 8 October 1852 with Matthew Farndale, Hannah Thompson, Mary Ann Farndale, Elizabeth Farndale and William John Martin aboard and arrived in Melbourne, Australia on 19^th January 1853 after a journey of 103 days. The Master was Samuel Macodock and there was a total of 242 passengers aboard.¹
