23 March 1818Leicestershire, EnglandElizabeth Jane Ann Hancock was tried on 23 March 1818 in Leicestershire, England, for knowingly having forged bank notes. She confessed herself guilty and was sentenced with Joseph Parker and Richard Lewis to transportation for 14 years.2
15 September 1823She received her Ticket of Leave for good behaviour on 15 September 1823.3
1829She had her Ticket of Leave cancelled in 1829 for an act of public and gross indecency as reported by the Sydney Police office on 23 September 1829 and she was sentenced to three months in the third class of the Female Factory. Constable Thomas Sharp swore on oath that he found Jane Harper (late Hancock) and Richard Williams, free, lying down ... in the middle of Castlereagh Street in the act of carnal connection... The woman was in liquor but the man was sober. Richard Williams was fined £10.
16 April 1832She received her Certificate of Freedom on 16 April 1832 and she is described as having a pale complexion, brown hair which was turning grey and grey eyes.4
