Article*Frederick and Ethel Munro were living in Kings Road, Five Dock, NSW when their son John was born. Sometime after this they purchased some 4 acres of land at Mt Coolah, NSW where they continued to live during the depression years. Frederick worked as a tailor's presser in Sydney for some 23 years.
     Their house was described as "a little fibro and iron dwelling", with a little front verandah and a big well. Ethel cooked on an open fire place with two big hobs. Frederick grew some vegetables, but had a one acre crop of potatoes. On Frederick's death in 1948 Ethel remained at Mt Coolah. However, just before 1964 their small home burnt to the ground as a result of an electrical fault. Ethel went to live with her daughter Dorothy on Sydney's North Shore and sold the land at Coolah shortly before she died in 1964.1
